Native American Beliefs On Animals
Native American Beliefs On Animals
Question regarding Native American Beliefs on Animals =)?
Hey all, I was at this crowding and my friend brought me to some people to talk about my 'spiritual background' I'm African and I eXplore different cultures and I am so very proud of my own. Interesting matter is when I was done, one of them said its eXtremely similar to Native Americans. I'm curious to know what type or if all tribes share the same ideology on Animals. All tribes with Totems? I'm a Wolf =D How do they find their totems? Do they transfer their spirits into their animals? (sometimes trees) It would be interesting simply cause we're two different cultures at ends of the earth yet so similar. If I could get a real Indian to answer this then that'd be something on my end. Thanks take care!
I actually posted a question a few weeks back about totems because I had never seen them beyond tv. No one around here has them. It's only the tribes in the Northwest, I found out.
As for transferring our spirits into animals or trees, I'd have to give that a no. I've never heard of any Native American tribe who transfers spirits anywhere.
I'm thinking that the person who told you that your beliefs were very similar to Native American beliefs was not Native at all and really didn't know what they were talking about. Sounds a bit like newage bs. Sorry.
